Closing Statements at Kovacevics Trial in April

Trial Chamber Chairman Davorin Jukic said that the State Prosecution would present its closing statement on April 9, while Kovacevics Defence would do it seven days later.
Prior to setting the date for presentation of closing statements, protected witness M, whom the Trial Chamber invited to testify, was examined. This witness testified in a separate cabin. The Chamber prohibited the publication of the content of his testimony.
Zemir Kovacevic, former member of the Interventions Squad with the 1st Bosanski Brod Brigade, which turned into the 101st Bosanski Brod Brigade of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, later on, is charged with having committed crimes in Sijekovac village, Bosanski Brod municipality.
According to the charges, Kovacevic participated in an attack on Sijekovac village, where he and his comrades took 15 adults and four children from their houses into a yard. Some of those persons were later killed.
The trial of Kovacevic began in July 2012 following his extradition from Sweden a year before.
